Breakfast Buffet

Aaron Ty loves breakfast food. So much so, that each morning he runs through a menu of breakfast items in his head before deciding what he'll have that day.

Each breakfast begins with choice of cereal. We have no less than four different cereals on hand at any given time. His favorite is "marshmallow cereal", aka Lucky Charms, which we try not to get more than once a month. The main course consists of usually one of the following:
  • Mini pankcakes
  • Mommy's French Toast (regular toast with peanut butter & syrup)
  • Dad's French Toast (oven baked frozen french toast w/ syrup)
  • Regular French Toast (toaster made frozen french toast w/ syrup)
  • Aaron's Special Order Waffles (w/ butter, sugar & syrup)
  • Special Waffles (w/ powered sugar & syrup)
  • Peanut butter toast
  • Oatmeal
  • Stuffed French Toast sticks
What he chooses usually goes in some kind of logical order (for him, anyway), although sometimes he chooses based on how he feels. His drink of choice is orange juice - no pulp, of course.

On those special occasions when we hit McDonald's for breakfast, he orders the Deluxe Big Breakfast which includes eggs, pancakes, sausage, hash brown, biscuit (which I usually get) and orange juice. Believe it or not, many times he actually eats about everything.

He downs the hash brown first, then digs into the pancakes, takes a break to play in the tubes, then comes back periodically to finish off. Dear old dad is satisfied with a Sausage McMuffin with Egg, hash brown and OJ. I know the folks at the counter assume that I'm being a pig in front of my son, but actually it's him ... really!

Anytime we decide to do breakfast food for dinner, he jumps at the opportunity to have as much of his breakfast menu as possible.

He takes seriously the saying that breakfast is the most important meal of the day - no matter when or where it's served.
